CaCV is a Tospovirus. Plants infected with CaCV exhibite signs of chlorotic ringspots. It commonly causes loss to crop and ornamental flower industries worldwide. CaCV infections have been reported in cash crops (such as tomatoes, bell peppers, and groundnuts) and ornamental flowers (such as gloxinias and orchids), which again highlights the importance of detecting the virus.
